The Automatic Document Feeder
When you find yourself with a document that needs to be scanned or copied, a document feeder can be an invaluable tool. Whether it is one page or many pages that need to be copied or scanned, an automatic document feeder will allow for greater efficiency and time management. For more information, please check out this Youtube video, which will walk you through the process of using one.
One of the problems with copying or scanning multiple pages is that each page needs to be put on the glass to be copied. This requires you to stand at the machine, opening and closing the top, for the best image quality. The page needs to be aligned correctly so it is not askew, which can happen with the opening and closing of the door. When you use an automatic document feeder, you do not need to worry about any of these issues. The feeder does it all for you. Once you have your document ready for scanning, you simply place the document in the feeder in the direction indicated by the instructions, and push the button for the process to start. The automatic document feeder will take your document, page by page, and feed it through to the glass underneath. You do not have to lift the top door to align the paper; the automatic feeder does it for you. Once it has scanned the page, it will then push the finished page out of the machine for you, into a holding area until you are ready to retrieve it.
This process is simple and efficient. Once you are accustomed to using this feature, you will be able to place your document into the automatic feeder, push the start button and walk away; free to complete other tasks that are awaiting your attention. When you are ready to pick up your document copies, they will be waiting for you. It is a definite time saver.
